Swedish emerging singer and songwriter Kassandra Widmark has finally returned almost a year after “Delete”, and this time she has delivered her first proper single this year and first after leaving her major label deal.
The song is called “No Longer Lovers” and it’s a pulsating synthpop banger which reminds somehow to Kiesza with a something more hypnotic bassline.
It’s also confirmed as the first taste of her forthcoming EP “Fantasma“, which is planning to release independently later this year. About her comeback and this new era, she said:
With no fuzz involved, I decided to just put the song out, meaning no press release, no big release strategy, no blog hunting, PR or label. I just wanted to come back to the core of why I do music and where in me it origins. Everything regarding this release is made by me and my friends
The song was written by herself and produced along Martin Eriksson. “No Longer Lovers” was launched on digital retailers and streaming services on Friday, April 6th.
