Utada Hikaru’s New Song “Forevermore” To Be Used As Theme Song To Drama “Gomen, Aishiteru”

Utada Hikaru has announced that she will be releasing a new song titled “Forevermore” on July 28.

The new song will be used as the theme song to the TBS drama “Gomen, Aishiteru“. This marks Hikaru’s first drama theme song in 9 years.

Eternally” from Hikaru’s 2001 album “Distance” was re-arranged in 2008 for the Fuji TV drama “Innocent Love“.

Drummer Chris Dave participated in the recording of both “Forevermore” and Hikaru’s other summer single “Oozora de Dakishimete“.

“Gomen, Aishiteru” will begin airing on July 9. Check a preview for the show below which features Hikaru’s new song in the background:

This report follows news of Utada’s brand new digital single “Oozora de Dakishimete” set for release worldwide on July 10.
Additionally, Utada took part in an interview for the August issue of a fashion magazine “VOGUE JAPAN” (preview photos pictured above) to be released on June 28, as well as cover feature interview for September issue of music magazine “ROCKIN’ON JAPAN” to be released on July 29.
